How much do smart glasses cost?

It depends on what the glasses do. The recorded prices in our database split into three families, and the honest answer is a condition, not a single number.

If you want a camera and a voice assistant in ordinary-looking frames, recorded prices for camera-and-AI glasses start at $149; the median of the 35 priced models in that family is $399, and the most expensive is $3,150.

If you want a private big-screen display for movies, gaming, or a portable monitor, the 37 priced display glasses run from $99 to $1,199, with a median of $389.

If you want full spatial AR that anchors apps in the room, the 9 priced advanced-AR devices with a public list price start at $499 and reach $2,195 (median $800); most of that family is aimed at developers and businesses, and several models skip public pricing entirely — see the special cases below.

Are smart glasses getting cheaper?

Not quickly. Across 9 weekly price checks between August 4, 2026 and October 5, 2026, 25 of the 35 re-checked models held the same retailer price, 5 dropped, and 5 rose.

The largest recorded drop in the archive is the Rokid Max 2, from $429 to $279.

That window is short, and it supports one conclusion only: smart-glasses prices move model by model — usually when a successor arrives — not across the board. If the pair you want is in stock at its recorded price, waiting for a general price crash is a bet this archive does not support. If it is an older model with a successor already announced, a discount is the pattern the recorded drops actually follow.

Special cases: subscription, enterprise, and not-yet-priced

Not every model has a one-time purchase price, and this page does not guess. Three groups sit outside the tier tables above.

Sold as a subscription

  • Snap Spectacles Gen 5 — monthly-billed access program with no recorded purchase price; terms on the product page.

Enterprise pricing on request

These devices are sold through enterprise sales channels and have no public list price — the manufacturer quotes per deployment.

Announced, no recorded price yet

These models have been announced or listed without a confirmed retail price. We record a price only once the manufacturer publishes one; each product page below carries what is confirmed so far.

How we check prices

Our price pipeline runs once a week. For every tracked model it loads the official retailer's product page and reads the price the retailer itself publishes in structured data — the same machine-readable listing stores hand to search engines — then appends one dated observation per model to a public archive. The pipeline never edits history: each row records both the live retailer price and our catalog price at the time of the check, so any disagreement between the two is visible in the archive itself.

This page is rebuilt from that archive and from the product database, so every dollar figure, count, and date above updates automatically with the weekly check. The raw data is free to download and cite from our data page, including a machine-readable catalog index, under a license that asks only for attribution.
