Editorial overview
By AR Compare Team ·
Compiled from AR Compare's verified catalog record and cited coverage — AR Compare has not tested this device.
The Almer Arc 2 is Swiss maker Almer’s take on industrial remote assistance: a 179-gram standalone headset with a monocular 0.49-inch Micro-OLED display (1920x1080, 22-degree field of view, 3,000-nit brightness per the record) whose whole job is putting a remote expert’s eyes on a field worker’s hands. A 25MP camera with 4K capture feeds the record’s strongest feature — video quality for remote support — and TeamViewer integration comes ready out of the box on a Snapdragon XR1 running Almer OS, with up to 8 hours of standby battery that drops to roughly 2 hours on continuous video calls.
The business model is the real differentiator: there is no retail price. Almer sells hardware-as-a-service — a monthly subscription covering the device, software, case, support, and damage replacement — which is why the catalog records no list figure and routes buyers to a quote. The headband-style fit works over prescription or safety glasses and under a helmet, and the display is assisted-reality by design: a 22-degree monocular window with no spatial tracking, aimed at checklists and video calls rather than 3D overlay.
The lifecycle note matters for new deployments: RealWear acquired Almer in November 2024, and the line has continued as the RealWear Arc 3 (12-month subscriptions from roughly $140 per month per the record’s research notes). The Arc 2 is in wind-down — still supported and sold by some resellers as of 2026 — so organizations standardizing today are effectively choosing between remaining Arc 2 stock and its RealWear successor.
