The XREAL One-series decision: both models run the same X1 spatial computing chip at 120Hz with the same rated brightness, so the choice comes down to display and price. The One Pro has the wider 57° field of view (vs 52°) plus HDR support at the flagship price, while the newer 1S has sharper 1200p panels (vs 1080p on the One Pro), a slightly lighter frame, and a lower price. The One Pro is worth the premium for the most immersive picture; otherwise the 1S is the better value.

Same chip, so the usual differences vanish
XREAL builds both of these around the same X1 spatial computing chip, and that one fact clears away most of what normally separates two pairs of display glasses. Motion handling is identical at 3ms of latency and a 120Hz refresh rate. Brightness is identical at 700 nits. Both frames dim their lenses electrochromically for dark-room viewing, both play through directional speakers with spatial audio, both take XREAL's prescription lens inserts, and both run off a single USB-C cable from a phone, computer, console, or handheld. Neither carries a camera. If you came in expecting the pricier model to be faster, brighter, or smoother, it is none of those things — the upgrade money buys something else entirely.
What it buys is a different window. The 1S drives sharper 1920x1200 panels, so text edges, subtitles, and game interfaces render noticeably crisper. The One Pro runs 1920x1080 panels but stretches them across a 57-degree field of view against the 1S's 52 degrees, so the picture fills clearly more of what you see. That is the whole trade: the 1S gives you denser, cleaner pixels, while the One Pro gives you screen real estate — and it layers HDR support on top, which the 1S lacks.
Typed XREAL S1 or One S? You are in the right place
A quick word on names, because XREAL's lineup invites the mix-up: the sharper model here is the 1S — digit first — and there is no XREAL model called the S1 or the One S. Both are common ways people type or remember the 1S, understandably, since the company also sells a separate model called the XREAL One. If either of those names brought you here, this page compares exactly the two products you meant: the XREAL 1S against the XREAL One Pro.
A workspace or a game screen
For virtual-monitor productivity work, the One Pro is the one built for it. Its wider view is the difference between a floating laptop display and something closer to an ultrawide desk monitor, and its recorded device support goes further in exactly that direction: Samsung DeX and iPad desktop use, which let a phone or tablet stand in for a computer with the glasses as its screen. If your plan is spreadsheets, code, and long writing sessions off whatever device is in your bag, that combination is what the extra money is for.
The 1S answers a different plan. Its own use-case record leans toward consoles and travel — Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation, and Xbox all appear on its compatibility list — and a sharper panel flatters game text and film detail more than a wider but coarser one would. Pick the One Pro to hang a wide, desktop-grade workspace off a phone, tablet, or laptop; pick the 1S for console and handheld sessions, for travel, and for the crispest picture of the pair — which, since it also costs less, makes it the sensible call for most people.
